700C rear wheel Weinmann with Maxi-Car drum brake hub – Maillard 6-speed freewheel

700C rear wheel for a touring bike or hybrid bike, fitted with a Maxi-Car hub with drum brake and a Maillard 6-speed freewheel. A sturdy used wheel, suitable for restoring or refurbishing a vintage touring bike.

The wheel features a 22.5 mm wide Weinmann aluminium rim, with brake tracks in good condition. The rim is in good condition and has no lateral or radial runout.

The Maxi-Car drum brake hub has smooth bearings with no play. The Maillard Course 6-speed freewheel is fitted with sprockets of 13, 15, 18, 22, 28 and 34 teeth. Some resistance to rotation has been noticed in the freewheel: it should be dismantled and lubricated before use.

The wheel has 40 spokes, one of which has been replaced with a new spoke.

The Schwalbe Marathon HS tyre is fitted but should be replaced before use. The wheel has a Presta valve and a solid axle with nuts supplied.

Condition and important information

Used rear wheel in good overall condition. The rim is in good condition, with no lateral or radial runout, and the brake tracks are in good condition. The hub bearings are smooth and have no play.

Please note before purchasing: the freewheel has some resistance when rotating and should be dismantled and lubricated. The Schwalbe Marathon HS tyre should also be replaced. These points should be taken into consideration when putting the wheel back into service.
