Weinmann is a brand specializing in the design and manufacture of bicycle rims and wheels.

Weinmann history :

Weinmann Aktiengesellschaft was established in 1933 by Otto Weinmann in Switzerland. The first product produced is an aluminum bicycle brake.

In 1944, a WWII bomb accidentally destroyed a large part of the factory.

The factory was rebuilt in 1945.

In 1946, a rim production unit opened in Belgium.

Weinmann developed aluminum bicycle cranks and crank axles in 1948, unfortunately sales did not grow.

In 1950, a Weinmann site was opened in Germany.

1975, launch of the high-end Carreira bicycle brake model.

In 1984, the HP Turbo brake and an MTB cantilever brake model were introduced to the market.

1991 saw the closure of the Swiss entity.

1995, creation of Bike parts Hong Kong Ltd with the Alesa group

In 1996, opening of the production sites of Weinmann Metal Products Co Ltd in Shenzhen and Kunshan in China

1997, the ZAC 19 and XTB 26 mountain bike rim models are available on the market, that same year, the Rigida group acquired the Alesa group in Belgium and Weinmann in China.

In 2002, the Olney production site was closed.

In 2009, the rim production unit from Shenzhen was transferred to Huizhou, the new entity became Weinmann Metal Products Co Ltd

In 2011 the Weinmann DHL80 and DHL100 rims for fat bikes were developed

In 2012, the Shenzhen entity was closed. That same year, a series of lightweight rims were offered.

Tubeless ready and e-bike rim series are available in 2015.

New radiating machines are used from 2016 for electric bicycle wheels with an electric motor in the hub.

In 2017, QX welded rim series are designed and available in the market.

In 2018, the bicycle rim manufacturing plant located in Kun-Shan was closed. This year, a 12 inch diameter tubeless double wall rim for balance bikes is being developed.

In 2002, the Olney production site was closed.
