Zefal is the contraction of Zéphyr (personification of the wind in Greek mythology) and duralumin (aluminum alloy) used in the first pump manufactured by this French brand.

This brand created more than 140 years ago specializes in the design and manufacture of components, accessories and equipment for bicycles.

History of Zefal:

It was in 1880 that the E. Sclaverand establishments in Paris began with the invention of the presta valve by this metal turning workshop.
In 1887, E. Sclaverand filed the first patent for a "pneumatic stamp", the first patch.
1892 saw the creation of the Afa company in Paris by the brothers Alcide, Félix and Alfred Rousseau.
